The size suited to a player is determined by height but can also be based on preference to the weight of the bat.
The latest designs are for bats that are very light in weight but with thick edges. The thick edges are balanced out by the cutaway spine (back) of most bats. Woodworm bats also have cutaway edges on the shoulder which reduces and distributes the weight even more.
It is important that Junior players do not use bats which are too big for them. The table below can be used as a guide to help you choose the right size of bat.
